Andor Földes (1913 - 1992)
Hungarian pianist Andor Földes studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music with Ernő Dohnányi.
He has written that first studied Beethoven's Emperor Concerto at the age of 15 and thereafter "there was hardly a time since those early days when I did not occupy myself intensively with this work. On many occasions I felt that I had almost plumbed its depths, only to realise, perhaps a year later, that it still remained shrouded in impenetrable grandeur."
