Alfred Denis Cortot (1877 - 1962)

The Franco-Swiss pianist and conductor, Alfred Cortot, was one of the most popular of musicians during the first half of the twentieth century. He was especially renowned for a poetic insight in Romantic period piano works, particularly those of Chopin and Schumann.
