Mary writes:
Psychology has long recognised the link between stress and disease. Medical evidence supports that many of our physical ailments are related to our psychological state. Equally, it has become widely accepted that negative thoughts and emotions have a powerful effect on our immune system and our levels of stress. We are spiritual beings having human experiences. At our spiritual level, all is perfect, whole, healthy and complete. But we often experience the results of misusing our minds, which creates disharmony in this material world. Through healing we achieve balance of both mind and spirit. Greater acceptance is increasingly given to the understanding that our mind, body and spirit are interlinked and that whatever impacts upon one part of our being will inevitably affect the other parts too. Therefore if we consider our own health and wellbeing, we will be encouraged to take responsibility for the whole of who we are, achieving and maintaining the means to good health.
When we take responsibility for our own lives and future, we can begin the process of self-empowerment.
We can decide which aspects of our lives we would wish to keep as they are and which we would wish to change. We may be happy with the way we live, and have no wish to change our life's overall pattern, but may desire greater control over any stress we experience day to day, or be better prepared to cope in times of crisis. We may feel discontent with our life in it's present form and feel constricted and frustrated by limitations life puts upon us.
We may wish to make radical life changes - through the process of self-empowerment we can address our life and begin planning steps toward achieving our goals.
